Marissa Bain, LICSW, CEAP, Clinical Director

Marissa Bain is a licensed independent clinical social worker working in the field for over 20 years and specializes in depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, domestic violence and relationships/interpersonal issues and the unique issues faced by law enforcement and their families. She is also a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and she is cognizant of the issues related to employees seeking or being mandated to counseling through their employer or employee assistance program.

Marissa provides counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and adolescents seeking services for mental health and substance abuse issues. Marissa was awarded the Social Worker of the Year in Addictions by the RI Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (RI-NASW) in 2016. Marissa serves on the Board of Directors at RI- NASW as a Board-at-Large Member and is active within the chapter. Marissa specializes in addiction of all kinds and treats not only the individual struggling with addiction, but the family members affected by this. Using a variety of therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she provides clients with the psycho-education and healthy coping skills in an environment where they feel safe and comfortable. Marissa is Level I and II Gottman trained and uses this model when treating couples. Assisting her clients improve self-awareness and make the changes that build emotionally healthier and happier lives is her goal.
