Samuel Ciotola, LMFT

Sam is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Anchor Counseling Center in our East Greenwich location. He is a graduate of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program from the University of Rhode Island, and has been a Licensed Therapist since 2004. He has experience working with couples, families, individuals, and children, and his work over the last 13 years has ranged from Home Based services, outpatient services, therapeutic daycare settings, and residential treatment facilities. He has served as an after-hours responder for traumatic situations through the Providence Police Department and Department of Elderly Affairs, and has worked for years with children and families through a variety of home based services.

Sam uses a combination of empathy, motivation, and humor to build a relationship with his clients, and utilizes Solution Focused, Strategic, and Experiential Therapy techniques in working towards goals with the population he engages with. His believes in a systemic approach, and that “each and every member of the family can be part of the solution” when working towards goals. He has experience working with issues ranging from ADHD and Autism in children to Depression, Anxiety, and trauma in adults. Sam’s passion is working with couples, but his extensive work with children and families for the last 15 years has become the focal point of his career. He is now accepting clients through or office in East Greenwich, RI on Post Road.
