Michael Bibeault, LMHC

Mike holds two Bachelor’s Degrees (Interpersonal Communication, and Humanities) and earned his Master’s in Education/Counseling from Providence College, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies at Rhode Island College. He completed his post-masters clinical training while employed at Butler Hospital in Providence where he worked with a diverse patient population in both inpatient units, and the Partial Hospital Programs as an individual and group therapist.

Mike is also an educator, employed as a faculty member at Providence College, instructing numerous courses and supervising student internships in the School of Graduate Education and Social Work. Mike takes great pride in helping prepare emerging mental health counselors at his alma mater. He is also a Board Member of the Rhode Island Board of Mental Health Counselors/Marriage & Family Therapists, having been appointed by the Governor in 2023.

Mike works out of the Anchor Counseling Center office in Lincoln, RI, and is currently accepting adolescent age and individual adult clients. Mike specializes in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Training and has an affinity for the Adlerian Theory of Counseling.

He has experience in treating Mood Disorders such as Depression and Anxiety, as well as Phase of Life Issues, Phobias, Obsessions, Grief/Bereavement, Life Transitions, Behavioral Issues, Relationship Problems, and LGBTQ Presenting Concerns.

Mike draws upon his past academic, vocational, and life experiences, while continuously striving to provide those whom he treats a comfortable, safe, trusting, non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
