Wilberth Perez, LMHC

My name is Wilberth Perez, I was born and raised in Costa Rica and moved to United States when I was 24 years old. I am a Spanish speaking Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensed in Rhode Island. I obtained a graduate degree in clinical psychology in Costa Rica and finished a C.A.G.S (Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study) in mental health at Rhode Island College. I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. My clinical experience includes outpatient settings, at-risk adolescent group homes, family and individual counseling, home-based services and coordination with different systems including: schools, primary care physicians, DCYF and mental health facilities. I have experience working with children and adults with PTSD, anxiety, depression and domestic violence. I also have experience working with LGBTQ teenagers and providing family counseling and trauma informed care. I enjoy using different kinds of therapeutic strategies and including music and arts as part of the therapeutic process. I believe that counseling can help individuals to learn more about themselves and find healthy ways to improve their lives.
