Joshua Bell, LMHC

Joshua works out of the Anchor Counseling Center office in Lincoln, RI. He is currently seeing clients of all ages and focusing on an array of mental health issues, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, and relationship problems.

Joshua is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He earned a Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in mental health counseling from Rhode Island College. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Western New England University. Joshua has more than 7 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, and families in both in-home and residential treatment settings.

Before coming to work at Anchor Counseling Center, he was the sole clinician of a residential treatment program for teenage boys with severe emotional and behavioral issues. He has extensive experience working with clients involved in both the juvenile and family court system.

Joshua is passionate about helping clients overcome whatever challenges they may be facing in life. He believes that effective counseling begins by developing a positive therapeutic relationship and creating a supportive, safe, and judgment free environment.

Joshua generally utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, but he will integrate aspects of alternative treatment modalities to meet a client’s specific needs. He employs a collaborative approach to counseling in which clients are supported to establish goals and identify and utilize their personal strengths. Throughout the counseling process, Joshua encourages his clients to provide input and feedback to make the most out of each counseling session.
