Katya Ildeykina, LMFT

Katya Ildeykina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Rhode Island Association of Marriage and Family Therapy RIAMFT).

Since entering practice, she has been working with children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples and family therapy. Her approach focuses on building self-esteem and coping skills to improve adjustment at home, at school, and in the community. She utilizes a strength-based approach in therapy focusing on possibilities and empowerment to support the needs of each individual and family within a broad range of socio-economic and culturally diverse scenarios and environments.

Areas of specialty include working with children, adolescents, families, couple helping them with life transitions, and parent-child concerns. She has treated a variety of issues, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), behavioral disorders, depression, anxiety, parent-child conflict, and grief. She draws on techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Play therapy, and Expressive Art therapy, Family Therapy, Behavior modification.

Katya earned a Certificate in Traumatic Stress from Dr. Van der Kolk’s Trauma Center in Brookline, MA in 2015.

She received her Master’s Degree of Science with concentration in Marriage and Family therapy from the University of Rhode Island. She is currently pursuing her AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation and is supervising clinicians seeking licensure in marriage and family therapy. She also earned a Certificate in Expressive art therapy from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI in 2011.
