Stephanie Santos-Spencer is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who earned her Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Couple & Family therapy from the University of Rhode Island. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. Stephanie is a clinical fellow in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT).
Stephanie has worked with children, adolescents, families, individuals and couples in both home-based and office settings. Before joining Anchor, she worked on an intensive home-based team, treating children and adolescents struggling with significant behavioral and emotional difficulties. Although the majority of her work as been with children and families, Stephanie also enjoys working with couples.
Stephanie believes in working collaboratively and creatively with her clients in a way that utilizes their strengths. She has an eclectic style that includes but is not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art and Play therapy, trauma-informed therapies, Solution-Focused Therapy, effective communication skills, and behavior modification. Stephanie’s ultimate goal is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship in order to assist her clients in achieving their goals.
