Enmanuel Matos is a licensed Mental Health Counselor who graduated with a bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and then earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Boston College. Since graduating I have worked in various settings from residential, in-patient, community health centers, and private practice settings.
I enjoy helping clients address many different types of issues, my specialties include working with children struggling with depression, anxiety, and mental illness, and communication, parents struggling with managing their child’s behavior, and children coping with traumatic childhood experiences.
The techniques I am proficient in is talk therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, behavior modification, and systemic family therapy to help clients understand why their experiences unfold the way they do. From there,
I help them develop healthier responses to everyday stressors. My goal is to help individuals learn techniques that will allow them to manage themselves more effectively on a daily basis, and to utilize resources in a positive way.
