Heather Flock, LICSW

Heather works out of the Anchor Counseling Center office in Cranston, RI. She is currently working with people of all ages. Heather works with those struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, relationship issues, trauma/grief and other mental health challenges. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, strength-based, and solution-focused approaches.

Heather is a licensed clinical social worker with 16 years of experience in the mental health field. She received her master’s degree from the Wheelock College in Boston, MA. Prior to that, Heather earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH.

She is also a certified EAGALA mental health professional and has done equine therapy for over 6 years. Heather has done extensive community based work with children and families who have experienced trauma and sexual abuse. She has provided individual and family therapy, run clinical support groups and has provided parent education and support.

Heather is passionate about helping clients overcome whatever challenges they may be facing in life. She believes in creating a safe, comfortable space in order for clients to share their thoughts/feelings and understands the importance of developing a positive therapeutic relationship in order for effective counseling to begin. Heather believes that each person has the ability to overcome their struggles with the right mind set and tools.
