I-Chien graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from National Taiwan University, and subsequently earned a Master of Social Work Degree from Columbia University with a Major in Clinical Practice. I-Chien has worked with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds in New York City before she relocated to Rhode Island. I-Chien is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and their families in community health centers, hospital settings, schools, and their homes. She is also experienced working with clients who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorder, behavioral issues, grief and loss, domestic violence, relationship issues and gender dysphoria.
I-Chien utilizes many evidence-based, trauma informed modalities to support her clients including CBT, CPT and IFS. I-Chien has worked as a trauma therapist for many years. She is very effective in supporting her clients in their recovery from sexual trauma and sexual assaults. I-Chien is energetic, empathic, positive and has a great sense of humor. I-Chien believes in a client-centered approach and is committed to meeting her clients wherever they are in their lives. I-Chien is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
