I am a licensed mental health counselor providing therapeutic services at Anchor Counseling Center. I graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge MA with a Masters in Counseling and Psychology. As a counselor I take a holistic approach to assist in healing the whole person…mind, body, and spirit. This integrative approach considers life experiences and how the experiences contribute to distress resulting in anxiety, depression, limiting beliefs, negative self talk, self judgement, and lack of self compassion. I am compassionate, nonjudgemental, and exude positive energy. I consider rapport developing an integral part of therapy to establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust and comfort.
Specialty areas of mine consist of trauma and grief. I work primarily with adults. Modalities used consist of but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, and Trauma Informed Yoga. Holistic techniques consist of mindfulness, meditation, breath work, and self-care.
Along with being a counselor I am a certified Kripalu yoga instructor. I incorporate yoga into the holistic approach when appropriate. Research shows the benefits of yoga for decreasing stress/anxiety, increasing self-compassion and self awareness, healing from trauma, and a variety of other benefits for body, mind and spirit.
